The Maggio Musicale is a world-wide known festival, founded over 70 years ago (around 1933) by Vittorio Gui. Started as one of the first music festivals in Italy, nowadays has become a real point of reference for opera lovers in every part of the world. More than 2.300 seats are ready every year to accommodate a qualified audience.

The story of the Maggio Musicale is tied to the history of Florence since the beginning, and we can find the best composers and conductors have staged their work in this magnificent festival. Muti, Maria Callas, Mascagni, Strauss and Stravinsky are only few of the masters we can recollect.

The Maggio Musicale takes place in May and June inside the Teatro Comunale of Florence.
